The Hive Festival is one of the most eagerly awaited electronic dance music festivals in the world. The festival will take place from 14 to 16 July 2023 in Ferropolis, the “city of iron” located between Leipzig and Berlin near the small town of Gräfenhainichen. The festival features an incredible line-up of over 200 DJs on six stages, playing non-stop for 56 hours.
The six stages at The Hive Festival will feature a wide range of electronic dance music, including techno, hitech, psytrance, drum’n’bass, symbiotikka and crew floors. The big names performing at the festival include techno legends like Hector Oaks, Kobosil and Paula Temple, hitech maestros like Kindzadza, Necropsycho and Psynonima, psytrance giants like GMS, Freedom Fighters and Henrique Camacho, and drum’n’bass icons like Subfocus, Black Sun Empire and Limewax.
Ferropolis, the festival’s venue, is a unique place that adds to the festival experience. The city of iron has been an active lignite mining site since 1957 and has become one of Germany’s most memorable event locations since the turn of the millennium. The nearby Gremminer See lake provides cooling in the hot festival summer and creates the perfect atmosphere for festival-goers to dance the night away.
Of course, there will also be a market area where vendors will offer a variety of goods. These areas offer a unique shopping experience where festival goers can find one-of-a-kind items such as handmade crafts, vintage clothing and unique accessories.
From international street food to local specialities, these markets are a great place to grab a bite and recharge your batteries for the rest of the festival fun.
It’s not uncommon for markets to have a lively atmosphere, and music and entertainment often add to the overall festival experience. Whether you are looking for a new trinket or just want to enjoy the lively atmosphere, the market areas and flea markets at festivals are a great way to spend time during your festival weekend.
