To care for 100% cotton fabric, it is recommended to machine or hand wash at a temperature of 30°C. It is best to turn the garment inside out before washing to protect the outside and decorative elements, and to improve contact between the detergent and the inside of the garment. Hand washing is the safest and gentlest way to wash cotton, as well as other fabrics such as cashmere, wool, and silk. Washing machines usually have a delicate or hand wash cycle that is designed to be gentle on delicate fabrics. This cycle typically has low agitation, low spin speed, and cool to cold water temperatures, providing a similar level of care as hand washing in the bathtub or sink. Items labeled as hand wash only can generally be cleaned using the delicate or hand wash cycle. Hand washing is considered the safest and gentlest way to wash fabrics such as cashmere, wool, silk, cotton, and linen. If you do not have access to a washing machine or want to take extra care of your favorite items, hand washing is a good option. Avoid high temperatures as they can destroy the fibers and cause color to fade quickly. Consider using natural or environmentally friendly detergents and drying clothes in the fresh air and a shady place to be gentle on the fabrics.
